Welcome to lesley Philp's Contemporary Silverware blog

If you have any comments about my website or about silversmithing then please email me.

During the summer I have been in France working and here are some of the pictures of my expos.
In July I exhibited in an exhibition organised by the local tourist board at the chateau in Challain la Potherie. This is a small village in the Anjou, Maine et Loire, but this exhibition is very well organised and is extremely popular with locals and tourists. I also gave demonstrations at Gallery Goodchild and the Jeune Talents Expo in Renaze during August and September.

At the beginning of September is la fete weekend for our village of St Michel et Chanveaux. The main event for me during the summer is when I organise an exhibition for that weekend. This year we used the small library and the old cafe in the centre of the village which is a capsule of times gone by. We left the cafe as it was just cleaned and added loads of flowers then installed artwork, photography, painted silks and my jewellery. The expo ran for the whole weekend in which I gave demonstrations and on the Sunday afternoon the local people were invited to come a paint a portion of canvas on two large frames. The adults were very shy but the children loved it, however we ended up with two super canvases, one displayed in the library and the other in the infant school in the village.
